The sanctuary of the Great Gods, dedicated to the worship and celebration of the mysteries of the Great Gods (Kaveri). The religious activity in the area lasted from the 7th century. p.X. until the end of the 4th c. A.D. Among the most important monuments of the archaeological site stand out the Propyla of Ptolemy B', dedication of the Egyptian king to the Great Gods (285-281 BC), the Sacred Circle, a circular area for standing spectators (late 5th-early 4th century BC .X.), the square votive monument of Philip of Aridaeus and Alexander IV (323-316 BC), the Palace, where initiation into the first degree of the Mysteries took place (1st century AD), the Dome of Arsinoe (Arsinoeion), dedication to the Great Gods (288-281 BC), the Temenos, a large marble building with a central place in the worship of the Great Gods (circa 340 BC), the Hieron, where the Supervision (the second degree of initiation, 325-150 BC), the Stoa, which housed the visitors of the sanctuary (first half of the 3rd century BC) and the Victory Monument, where the statue of Nike of Samothrace, on the bow of a ship (early 2nd century BC).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

\u2013 The Archaeological Museum (tel. 25510-41.474), with important findings from the archaeological site and the replica of the Victory of Samothrace.
\u2013 The three-aisled Early Christian basilica, from the 5th-6th century, of which only a few traces of the foundation have been preserved.
\u2013 The medieval fortifications of the Gatelouzos (1431-1433). The towers dominate a hill overlooking the sea.
\u2013 Worth mentioning is the Martini Forest with centuries-old oaks \u2013 it stretches over Therma and Kariotes \u2013 a remnant of the large oak forests that once covered the entire island.
